Introduction to Silicon Metal

Silicon metal, also known as industrial silicon and crystalline silicon, is obtained by reducing silicon dioxide with a carbonaceous reductant in a mineral furnace, and is an important raw material for the production of silicone, polysilicon and aluminium alloys. Silicon metal is silicon dioxide, carbonaceous reductant and loose agent as raw materials, in the mineral furnace through continuous electrothermal chemical reaction production. In the smelting production process, the material required for production is firstly sent to the silo in the ore furnace workshop by the raw material handling system, and then, according to the specific gravity of the material, it is transported by the conveying equipment to the top silo or the storage silo on the operating platform in the ore furnace workshop, and the charge is added to the furnace by the furnace operator.

Introduction to High Purity Silicon Metal

High purity silicon metal has a higher content of silicon than ordinary silicon metal, usually above 99.9, up to 99.99. The surface of high purity silicon metal is distinctly different from that of silicon metal, and is brighter and smoother than ordinary silicon metal.

Specification and particle size: natural lump, 10-100mm, powder or according to customer's requirement.

Packing: one metric tonne in a big bag or according to customer's requirement

Uses of High Purity Silicon Metal

The main use of silicon metal is as an additive to non-ferrous based alloys. It is also used as an alloying agent for silicon steel with strict requirements, and as a deoxidising agent for smelting special steel grades and non-ferrous base alloys. After a series of processes, silicon metal can be drawn into monocrystalline silicon for use in the electronics industry.
