The oxidation reaction itself is an exothermic reaction, which can increase the temperature of molten steel. At the same time, ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element additive, which is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, electrical silicon steel, etc. In addition, ferrosilicon is also commonly used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production and the chemical industry.

Application of ferrosilicon 75

(1) Ferrosilicon 75 is an indispensable deoxidizer in the steelmaking industry. In the steelmaking process, Ferrosilicon 75 is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusion deoxidation.

(2) Ferrosilicon 75 is used as an inoculant and spheroidizer in the cast iron industry. In the production of ductile iron, Ferrosilicon 75 is an important inoculant (which helps the precipitation of graphite) and spheroidizer.

(3) Ferrosilicon 75 is used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production. High-silicon Ferrosilicon 75 not only has a strong chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen, but also has an extremely low carbon content. Therefore, high-silicon Ferrosilicon (or silicon alloy) is a commonly used reducing agent in the ferroalloy industry to produce low-carbon ferroalloys.
